Legal Advice & Referral Center will assess your application and call you to complete the screening, contact you by email or regular mail if we determine that we cannot provide additional assistance, or refer your file to New Hampshire Legal Assistance for further assessment.
Most people will receive legal advice over the telephone to help them handle their own legal matter.
Completing an on-line application does not guarantee that you will receive legal assistance. Financial eligibility requirements, program priorities, available resources and our ability to reach you will be some of the factors that determine whether or not New Hampshire's Legal Services programs can provide you with legal assistance.
Help with a family law issue Family law generally includes cases about divorce, parenting (formerly known as child custody), child support, guardianship of minors or adults, and some juvenile matters.
Help with a housing issue Housing law generally includes evictions (by a private landlord, public housing or other), landlordand tenant rights, and housing conditions.
Help with a foreclosure If you are facing or fear the foreclosure of your home, complete this application to see if there is assistance available.
Help with a simple estate planning issue Simple estate planning generally includes drafting a will and executing a power of attorney.
Help with a Disability Benefits issue Disability Benefits include Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Aid to the Permanently and Totally Disabled (APTD).
Help with Social Security overpayments Complete this application if the Social Security Administration claims you have been over paid benefits and you disagree or think you should not have to repay the benefits.
Help with Unemployment Insurance or Unemployment Compensation Denials If believe you have been wrongly denied Unemployment Insurance or Unemployment Compensation Benefits complete this application.
Help with Unemployment Overpayments If employment security has determined that you were overpaid Unemployment Benefits and you disagree or think you should not have to pay the money back complete this application.
Help with some other legal issue If you have a legal problem other than those listed above, please complete this application and someone will let you know whether or not there is help available for your problem.
